kalau ada hujan april, ada bunga mei
Another month has gone by and it’s so hard for me to believe how fast time flies. At the beginning of this month I went up to Aceh and hung out there with a few people…sounds exciting, huh? Well it was a good trip. It was interesting to see how some places have changed and some are just as ruined. There still is a place heading towards the coast where you drive for 15 minutes and there is nothing, where there used to be thousands of homes. Driving through there creates this unspoken rule of silence, where you just sit and attempt to breathe while taking in all of the thoughts of disaster.
After Aceh I went to Bali which was a relaxing time at the beach going shopping!! and hanging out at the beach and eating some good food. Then I went to the Hyatt back in Bandung with my family and we went bowling with the Beeson’s, went swimming, and played speed scrabble, and of course I held Zoe.
Speaking of Zoe, as you can see in the pictures below, she is getting so big! I’m sure that no one reading this really cares but I do. It’s so amazing to be here with her and watch her grow up, she can hold her head up now and she’s ticklish and she laughs and she is just so so beautiful.
This past week I kept hoping that there would be a tie between Paris, Kelly, and Taylor and that they would magically all be voted off on the same night…too bad that didn’t come true. I think Chris is just so amazing, and Katherine’s great but she knows she’s good, and Elliot has an amazing voice too and he’s cute. Chris should still win though, no question on that. I’m on episode 20 of Lost which will mean nothing unless you totally love it like I do (because the show is so awesome!). Episode 18 about “Dave” scared me SO much especially at the end it was so creepy…I love those kind of shows though that completely twist around what you were thinking. The anticipation is great but the waiting is horrible. I liked it when I got the whole first season and sat and watched the whole thing in 3 days…season two is hard because I have to wait a whole week and then parts of it get answered but other parts are still unsolved!
As you can tell, not much has been happening to me recently because I’m talking about tv shows. I guess it runs in the family. Ok let me try and think of some real news…
Oh yeah, this summer I will be in America (Pennsylvania specifically) from June 19 – July 9. Yes, it will be a short trip but I hope to see some of you. I still don’t have a license so I won’t be able to drive to see anyone (except Nate if my mom can find a car so she can drive us over there). Anyway, if any of you all want to come visit me during that short time period I would love to see you so email me and let me know if and when you wanna come.
After the summer I’ll be back in Bandung, then going to our retreat in Bali, then I’ll be either in Aceh or Bandung until early September, and then I have something in mind (yes Chels our prayers are being answered) but I can’t say it yet so stay tuned.
The only other semi-exciting thing (no offense to any players) that happened this month was the basketball tournaments. Last weekend was the girls and this weekend was the guys. The girls came in 1st place and the guys came in 2nd. Last night the final guys game was SO intense!! I was keeping stats after only 6 minutes into the first quarter we had a major fight with the ref’s about how many points the teams had and we argued over it all of the break. Then throughout the game they kept fouling for random reasons, for example Travis clapped (as in to say ‘pass me the ball’) but the ref said that was an unfair advantage over the other team so he got an offensive foul. The most intensity came in the last 2 minutes when it was tied 50-50 and we had 5 team fouls. The other team got the ball in the last 1 second (literally) and one of our players fouled him so he got two shots, he made one and they won 51-50…otherwise we would have gone into overtime for the first time. Anyway, it was a great game, it’s so boring when there’s no intensity, and it was a good game to end on.
Ok well that about wraps up my month. I hope you had a good one. Have a lovely day!
